From Dots to Lines: A Personal Tale of APTE Sometimes, we find our path in the middle of wandering—or even while running away. People often talk about students who don’t fit in, but there are also teachers who feel out of place in schools. I was one of those teachers. From the moment I was assigned, the school felt stifling and suffocating. Looking back, I lacked the basic virtues expected of a teacher or a public servant—organization, precision, attention to detail. So I chose to run. As soon as I fulfilled the minimum service period, I applied for graduate school leave. Then one day, I came across a notice for the Teacher Dispatch Programme to multicultural countries in 2014. Without hesitation, I applied. That four-month journey to the Philippines, which started as an escape, eventually helped me find a meaningful path as a teacher.
